The Women’s Study

(Phenotypes of Sleep Health Among Black and Hispanic Women of Childbearing Age)

If you are an 18-49 year old African American/Black, Hispanic/Latina, or multiracial woman, you may be eligible to participate in our new research study. The purpose of this study is to learn about factors that influence sleep among Black and Hispanic women.

Participation Involves:

  • completing surveys on your phone/tablet about your health, factors that influence sleep and some background characteristics, and one research visit to collect heigh, weight, blood pressure, hip, waist, and neck size
  • wearing a sleep monitoring wristwatch for 2 weeks
  • a one-night sleep study at home (wearing a small sleep monitoring device on your forehead and chest while you sleep)

Participants will receive up to $150 for questionnaires and sleep monitoring. This study will be completed online and at home. If you are invited to participate in an interview, you will be offered an additional $50.
